Philanthropy and Planned Giving

Leave a Legacy for Public Media in the North Country

For over 50 years, Mountain Lake PBS has brought trusted journalism, educational programming, and community connection to the Adirondacks, Champlain Valley, and Montreal region. Planned giving lets you extend that impact for generations to come — while often providing meaningful tax and financial benefits for you and your family.

Bequest in Your Will or Living Trust

Include Mountain Lake PBS in your will or living trust. A bequest costs nothing today and can be a specific amount, a percentage of your estate, or what remains after other gifts.

IRA Charitable Rollover (Qualified Charitable Distribution)

If you're 70½ or older, you can donate directly from your IRA — up to $105,000 annually — without counting it as taxable income.

Gifts of Stock

Donating appreciated stocks or mutual funds can eliminate capital gains tax while providing a full fair-market-value deduction.

Donor-Advised Funds

Recommend a grant to Mountain Lake PBS from your donor-advised fund, or name us as a beneficiary to keep your legacy of support going.

Beneficiary Designations

Name Mountain Lake PBS as a beneficiary of your retirement account, life insurance policy, or donor-advised fund — a simple update with no need to change your will.

Memorial & Tribute Gifts

Honor a loved one or mark a special occasion with a gift to Mountain Lake PBS made in their name.

With the elimination of Federal funding for public media, sustainable support is more important than ever. Planned gifts help ensure Mountain Lake PBS can continue providing free, trusted local journalism and educational resources to our region's children and families — no matter what happens in Washington.
