The road to creating a new composition is often difficult. But for J.S. Bach and Georg Frideric Handel, their pathways to creating the Mass in B minor (Bach) and the oratorio Israel in Egypt (Handel) were even more challenging than usual. Eric Milnes leads performances of both of these masterpieces at this year's Burlington Baroque Festival, part of a five-concert series featuring composers who truly imbued their works with all they had to advance their art form forward.
