The Joys, Fears, and Firsts of Motherhood

Email share

Many of you know the challenges and joys of becoming a parent.  A woman in Montreal has written a book on the subject of first-time parenting.  While many of the topics she treats are universal, such as delight and discovery, some of her fears and anxieties about motherhood come from places most of us can’t imagine.

You may enjoy parenting insights and anecdotes in the book Inside Voice: A Mother’s Open Diary, by Liza Selvarajah.

The author discusses her work with Spotlight producer Paul Larson.

Readers interested in more personal and challenging themes may also want to explore Selvarajah’s second book.  She says she was raised in a strict faith community in Montreal, and that her early experiences continue to influence the choices she makes as a parent. You can read the fascinating story of her upbringing in her book, The Pentecostal Scar.
