Reporters Roundtable: Two Weeks to Election Day

Email share

We bring together journalists from here in the North Country to talk about some of the big stories of the past few weeks.  We are joined by Pat  Bradley, the North Country Bureau Chief for WAMC Northeast Public Radio, Cara  Chapman, the Champlain Valley Reporter for North Country Public Radio, and, Alek LaShomb, the Plattsburgh Bureau Chief for WCAX-TV.

With Election Day just two weeks away we discuss a new Siena Research Institute poll that shows the two candidates running to fill the open seat in New York's 21st Congressional District are in a very tight race.  We also talk about how it's unlikely this late in the campaign that there will be debate between the candidates, Blake Gendebien and Anthony Constantino.  We talk about that same Siena poll and the results among NY21 voters for the New York race for Governor between Kathy Hochul and Bruce Blakeman.

Alek LaShomb and Pat Bradley will talk about the sentencing of a father from Montreal convicted in the killing of his 9-year-old daughter last summer in Ticonderoga.

Alek and Cara tell us about the special America 250 reenactment of the famous Battle of Valcour that happened in October of 1776 on Lake Champlain.  And 5 sailors killed in that battle were laid to rest this past week at the Saratoga National Cemetery.
