Email share

We sit down with Dr. Matt Keagle, who is the Curator at Fort Ticonderoga to talk about the signature event and reenactments being held this weekend at Fort Ticonderoga to commemorate this week in history, 250 years ago in October of 1776, when the British continued their invasion of Northern New York down Lake Champlain after the Battle of Valcour Island to Fort Ticonderoga where they were confronted by 13,000 American soldiers with the Continental Army, and militiamen, who defended the fort and sent the British fleet of ships and troops back to Canada, ensuring that the Revolution would continue into the following year, 1777.

Special events, reenactments, and exhibits are planned, and visitors are encouraged to attend.  To learn more about the Hold the Line on Liberty Weekend on Saturday, October 24th and Sunday, October 25th visit www.FortTiconderoga.org for information, a schedule of events, and ticket information.  Several more signature events will be held throughout the winter and again next year at Fort Ticonderoga.
