Adirondack Christmas Carol

An Adirondack Christmas CarolA Dramatic & Lyrical Celebration of Christmas in The Adirondacks

A disgruntled woman in her 30's, is trying to get it all done on Christmas Eve in the small, remote Adirondack Hamlet of AuSable Forks. When her car slides off an icy mountain road, she meets a mysterious and "magical" stranger. The stranger, driving a one horse open sleigh and dressed in a crinkled top hat and heavy wool coat, takes the woman on a whirlwind tour of The Adirondack Mountains to see the many ways Christmas is celebrated through the music, reminiscences and gatherings traditional to the Adirondacks. The holiday special includes a sound track of original music written and performed by Roy Hurd and Susan Trump as well as traditional carols performed by the Lake Shore Ensemble, Carl Kokes, The Porter Music Box Company, The Alan Jones Celtic Ensemble and 6th graders from Moriah Central School.

An Adirondack Christmas Carol is written, directed and produced by Derek Muirden, the award-winning producer behind Mountain Lake's popular local programs "Roadside Recipes" and "People Near Here". National PBS credits include "Voices of Scotland" and "Reach for the Sky: Inside the U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds."
