Vision2Action Tackles the State of the Arts in Clinton County

1/31/2012--Vision2Action begins a discussion on the state of the arts in Clinton County with a roundtable discussion on Mountain Lake PBS on Thursday, Feb 2 at 8pm. Hosted by Thom Hallock, participants will include members of the Vision2Action committee Devi Momot, President and CEO of TwinState, Stephens Mundy, CEO of CVPH, and Colin Read, Professor of Economics at SUNY Plattsburgh.

Mountain Lake PBS Recieves Grant from Georgia-Pacific Foundation

10/31/2011 -- Mountain Lake PBS is pleased to announce that it is a recipient of a grant from Georgia-Pacific Foundation. The $2,500 grant will provide the Education & Outreach department with funding the station’s Imagine Yourself Reading program. 


Mountain Lake PBS Productions Grab Two National Awards

 10/28/2011 -- The National Educational Telecommunications Association (NETA) honored 23 public broadcasters with awards on stage at the Hyatt Regency Crown Center hotel. In all, twenty-eight trophies in content production, promotion, community engagement, and instructional media were awarded.  The presentation was part of NETA’s annual conference, held this year in Kansas City, Missouri.

 

Mountain Lake PBS Highlights Unique STEM Learning Opportunities at Airborne Speedway

 10/24/2011 -- A special report on the unique science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) opportunities at Airborne Speedway will headline Mountain Lake Journal EXTRA on Thursday, October 27th at 8:30pm, and will be available online at video.mountainlake.org. This segment is accompanied by lesson plans and resources designed to bring STEM learning to the classroom and home, and are available at mountainlake.org/stem.

 

Small Farm Rising premiere Sold out Second Screening to take Place in November

 9/28/2011 -- Due to overwhelming interest in the film, the October 1st, 2011 premiere of Small Farm Rising  at the Golden Arrow Resort in Lake Placid has reached its capacity. A second screening, hosted by the Champlain Valley Film Society and Mountain Lake PBS, will take place on November 12th at 8pm. For more information about this screening, visit cvfilms.org. The film’s broadcast premiere on Mountain Lake PBS will be on October 6th at 9pm.

Mountain Lake PBS Goes Local With Close to Home Showcase

 9/21/2011 -- A new series on Mountain Lake PBS begins on Thursdays at 9pm titled Close to Home Showcase. The series will feature exclusively local programs, ranging from broadcast premieres to classics pulled from the archives. 

 

Documentary on Lake George Communty Response to Aquatic Invasive Species in Development

 9/15/2011 -- Two Lake George watershed protection organizations have joined with Mountain Lakes PBS and a documentary film team to highlight the challenges of aquatic invasive species management in the Lake George basin.

 

Lunkerville Comes to Mountain Lake PBS

Award Winning Fishing Program is “Not Your Average Fishing Show”

5/2/2011 -- Lunkerville, the fishing show that features real people with real fish stories, will begin airing on Mountain Lake PBS beginning May 7th. Currently in its sixth season, Lunkerville will be broadcast weekly on Saturday mornings at 10:00 am. The show also airs internationally on the World Fishing Network.

 

Mountain Lake PBS Launches New Author Visits Initiative

4/26/11 -- On this week's Mountain Lake Journal EXTRA airing Thursday, April 28th at 8:30pm, producer Paul Larson introduces Mountain Lake PBS's newest initiative, Author Visits, in conjunction with his interview with Katherine Paterson, author Bridge to Terabithia.

 

Mountain Lake PBS Recieves Stewart's Holiday Match Grant

4/18/2011 -- Mountain Lake PBS received $500 dollars from Stewart’s Holiday Match program in support of the PBS KID’S GO! Writers Contest, a local competition designed to promote the advancement of children’s reading and writing skills through hands-on, active learning.
