- Have your child help write the shopping list by going through the cupboards and reading what item you might need more of.
- Let your child self-select some items that he can add to the list. Have your child match the item on the list to the item in the store.
- Have your child read the cans and labels in the grocery store.
- Play a game to find the items that start with a particular letter.
- Have your child hunt for items with complete words. (ex. “I’m looking for an item that has the word “ice” in it.”)
