- Ask questions about the storyline. (What happened at the beginning, middle and end of the story?)
- Talk about the characters feelings. (Are the characters happy, sad, excited etc.?)
- Encourage your child to make a simple costume and act out a scene from the show or movie.
- Describe the place that the movie or show is set in and draw a map of the setting from the description.
- Have your child write a new ending to the story or use the computer to write the next episode.
- If the show or movie has a timeline, have your child construct one and label the different dates.
- Ask your child why questions. (Why do you think the writer of the show had the character do that? If you were writing the show would you have had the character do the same thing?)
