Tips for Reading Aloud

READING ALOUD IS ONE OF THE IMPORTANT PREDICTORS OF READING SUCCESS !

Suggestions for Reading Aloud:
  • HAVE FUN WHEN READING ALOUD!
  • Have your child chime in with the words that are repeated in the story.
  • Point to the words as you read.
  • Look at the cover of the book, read the author’s name and the title. Talk about the pictures.
  • Ask questions about the book. What was the best part, silliest part etc.?
  • Try to read at some point every day! Let your child tell you the story the next time
