- Have your child help you plan the trip. Write a list of the cities you plan to visit and find them on the map.
- Encourage your child to read the street signs.
- Brainstorm words that rhyme with the cities or roads.
- Find all the towns that begin with a certain letter.
- Find the towns that have the short “a” sound as in apple.
- Help your child keep a travel journal. Have them answer questions in the journal. (i.e. What was your favorite place that we visited? What things did you learn about on the trip?)
